Well I've been working at the university for nearly three weeks now, and I'm yet to achieve anything really... I've done a couple of chemical reactions, but so far the only things that have actually even mildly resembled success is the washing up. I'm currently waiting for some post grads to return so I can continue my workup of the latest substance to be attempted, but can't do anything until they get back. On the plus side, I'm going out tonight! We're all off to the local pub frequented so many times by myself and my friends, to get pissed. (Well, it needs to be done really). It's finally well and truly summer! Uni's over until October, and so we've all started messing around and playing at being "students". Today we're all (spontaneously) off to Bournemouth to the beach! Can't wait. The number of BBQs on the way should kill off most of the livestock on the south coast, but it doesn't happen very often so who cares!

I had my first ever martial arts lesson that wasn't in the Dojo or on the Common. My "all-knowing" instructors decided that the best place for a lesson would be on the concrete outside one of the university buildings. CONCRETE! Unsurprisingly I'm now in a substantial amount of pain, but (scarily) I don't mind. I feel an amazingly amount better for it! We didn't try too much of the really difficult stuff, :matrixfight:, but we *did* do some follow the leader type stuff, which during a Ninjutsu lesson *does* involve cartwheels, climbing poles and a whole lot more... We also did some of the simple neck chops, resulting in a rather inflamed neck
